But what makes a youth environment truly attractive? And what limits its ability to endure and achieve meaningful impact?
This report offers an in-depth examination of the reality of youth environments in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, drawing on national experiences, the perspectives of young people themselves, and the insights of experts and practitioners in the field. It explores the concept of youth environments, their origins, and their various forms—whether in-person or virtual—while highlighting their role in empowering youth, strengthening their sense of belonging, and building their personal and professional capacities.
The report also highlights the shared characteristics of engaging youth environments and the standards that govern the quality of their practices. In addition, it reviews the challenges they face in terms of governance and organization, sustainability, and operating models. In light of this, the report opens the discussion on available opportunities to further develop these environments and move them from individual initiatives toward systematic, institutional impact—aligned with national development priorities.
